A Few Words from the President
At CYBSE, we believe that engineers have an important role to play in shaping a safer, more sustainable and technologically advanced future for Cyprus. Our aim is to bring professionals together, encourage the exchange of knowledge and experience, and provide a strong platform for constructive dialogue on the issues affecting our profession.Through education, collaboration and active engagement with ETEK, public authorities and the wider industry, we seek to contribute meaningfully to the development of our sector and to promote high professional and technical standards. I invite our colleagues to participate actively, share their knowledge and ideas, and help us build a stronger engineering community together.
Board Members
Chysanthos Marouxos
President
Chrysanthos holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MEng in Energy Technologies and Sustainable Design from the University of Cyprus, and an MBA from CIIM. He is Director of Value Creation Consulting (VCC), specializing in energy management, renewable energy, and the decarbonization of large organizations and businesses. He has previously served on the General Council of ETEK, currently coordinates the Chamber's Energy Committee, and is a certified trainer for HRDA Programs of Vital Importance.
Eleni Triantafillidou
Vice President
Eleni holds a BEng in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering and a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and Space Science Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace. She has extensive experience in electrical engineering and currently serves as Director of Energybox Ltd.
Panayiotis Nikolaides
Secretary
Panayiotis holds a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Derby and an MSc in Electrical Engineering for Sustainable and Renewable Energies from the University of Nottingham. He has extensive experience in photovoltaic and renewable energy projects and is currently Founder and Managing Director of SolarSky Technologies and an Adjunct Faculty Member at Intercollege.
Andreas Gregoriou
Treasurer
Andreas holds a BEng degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and an MSc in Renewable Energy from Heriot-Watt University. He has experience in photovoltaic systems, renewable energy and sustainable technologies, providing engineering and advisory services through A.G. Greenergy Technologies.
Aristos Sofokleous
Board Member
Aristos is a qualified Electrical Engineer and a graduate of the University of Patras. He has been active in the field of electrical installations since 2004 and, since 2007, has been the Director of SOFARISTOS ELECTRICAL CONSULTING ENGINEERS LLC, specialising in electrical engineering design and consultancy.
Kyriakos Paphitis
Board Member
Kyriakos is an Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in electrical installations and the supply of electrical engineering equipment and materials. He is a partner at Flux Electrical Supplies Ltd and, throughout his career, has played an active role in the development and evolution of electrical installation regulations and standards in Cyprus.
Michael Toumbas
Public Relations Officer
Michael holds an MEng in Control Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield, with extensive experience in smart buildings, energy, automation, and technology. He currently practices technology advisory through TMX Advisory while managing other business ventures and technology projects. His work combines engineering expertise with the practical development and implementation of integrated technology and energy solutions.
